NEIWPCC Wetlands Workgroup
NEIWPCC's Wetlands Workgroup is comprised of wetlands staff from our member states, EPA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Marine Fisheries Service, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The group meets three times per year, with one meeting focusing specifically on wetland mitigation. The other meetings provide an opportunity to discuss recent developments in state and federal regulatory programs and other topics of interest to the states. Some current topics include: the National Mitigation Action Plan; Clean Water Act jurisdictional issues (EPA/USACOE policies and court cases); water quality standards for wetlands; enforcement; and federal funding for wetlands programs.
