Sound Health Report
NEIWPCC takes the lead in developing the Sound Health report for the Long Island Sound Study on a biennial basis. Sound Health is a report to the public on the environmental issues affecting Long Island Sound. It provides information on water quality, the abundance of animal and plant life in the Sound, efforts to restore natural areas, and efforts to increase public access to the waterfront. Each report also highlights special projects or topics.
The report is distributed as an insert in newspapers local to Long Island Sound, as well as through the mail by request and on the LISS website. In addition to educating the general public, Sound Health has become a valuable tool for classroom education.
Electronic copies of the most recent Sound Health reports are available below. To order paper copies or to view older reports, please visit the Long Island Sound Study web site.
