Northeast States Succeed in Reducing Mercury in the Environment
NEIWPCC collaborated with the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM) and the Northeast Waste Management Officials’ Association (NEWMOA) to produce four reports that document the results of regional mercury reduction programs.
- Northeast States Succeed in Reducing Mercury in the Environment is an overall summary of the highlights of accomplishments in air, water, and waste.
- Tracking Progress in Reducing Mercury Air Emissions provides information on documented reductions of air emissions from a number of sectors, both in the region and in other parts of the country.
- Reducing Mercury in Wastewater and Spreading the Word about Mercury in the Environmentsummarizes the benefits of dental amalgam separators and regional mercury outreach efforts.
- Northeast States Succeed in Reducing Mercury and Continue to Address Ongoing Challenges documents the quantities of mercury and mercury-containing products that have been collected or reduced as a result of legislation regarding mercury use in products.
